Some days are same old, same old and others are so special. This being one of these days.
A good night’s sleep and feeling somewhat peckish I threw a few eggs in the frypan, sunny-side up with a splash of cheese and toast and a most enjoyable brekkie.
Our pickup point for today’s adventure was only 5 minutes away and we made it with heaps of time to spare.
Three other tourist were squeezed into the Land Rover for a 20 minute drive to our location on, aptly named Highway One. And one guess why - it's the only highway and it circumnavigates Iceland.
Out with two sledges and 8 gorgeous, did I say gorgeous, Huskies soon harnessed and ready to work.
Each run was about 3 - 4 km in length. Having an odd number of tourist (5) mean we need three runs for everybody to have a go. My fortune was that being of solid construction, I went last with 2 extra Huskies to pull me along. Trust me it had nothing to do with weight, just that after all that pulling they were a bit tired and need the support of two of their friends. At least that's my take on it and given my physical stature I don't think I'll have an argument...
What can I say, my face is still sore from my ear-to-ear grin - smiley happy face!!!
